Honest Abe issues propaganda

At one time, the worst thing you could find at the Lincoln Memorial in D.C. was a mis-spelled word carved into the stone. But now...

The National Park Service has bought footage of President George W. Bush, his father, pro-Iraq War demonstrations and anti-gun control rallies from news organizations for inclusion in a video to be displayed at the Lincoln Memorial, according to documents obtained by People For the American Way Foundation (PFAWF) and Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER).
As you know, I've advised other Democrats to steer clear of the gun control issue. Still -- promoting a pro-gun stance within a memorial to Abraham Lincoln represents incomprehensibly bad taste. It's a little like leaving the "George of the Jungle" theme song ("Watch out for that tree!") on Mary Bono's answering machine.

And I rather doubt that Abe would have spoken kindly of the current war to steal oil.
