What if 2004 is the new 2000?
What if massive vote irregularities hit us again? Some say they are already cropping up. My own suggestion as to how to deal with vote fraud --unrelenting civil unrest and a general strike until a fair revote takes place -- seems to have attracted few converts. Here's another possibility: An emergency recount commission. It can happen, but we all need to get behind this idea right now.

I'm white but I live in a mostly black nabe and in a building of 127 people of whom around 115 are black. The building and neighborhood are almost totally Kerry supporters. It has been suggested to me that if a fraud occurs again like the one in the election in 2000 there will be rioting in the streets. I believe that black voters feel the injustice that occured in 2000 more accutely than white voters...though I could be wrong about that.
In any case, it seems to me that civil action and rioting in the streets would be a totally appropriate response this time around.
