I'm swamped at the moment but should have a post up later on today. In the meantime, I urge you to watch this extraordinary Adam Curtis documentary, which explains the current world as well as anything else does. (Mind you, I have my various points of disagreement, as is inevitable. But the treatment of Libya is superb.)
By the way: Steve Bannon is out. There is more here than meets the eye, obviously. The claim that Bannon was placed on the council to monitor Flynn is obvious hogwash. Does Trump worry that Bannon will be fingered in the Trump investigations? Or is Trump genuinely changing course?
We also have a buildup in Syria to worry about. Lawrence Wilkerson -- on one of the MSNBC shows; I forget which -- said that he doubts that the recent chemical attack was really perpetrated by Assad. I agree. In all likelihood, Trump has convinced Putin to sell out Assad: Why else would neocons like Flynn hitch up with Trump?
Or, a 3rd possibility: The NSA director issued an ultimatum: "Bannon goes, or I do?" In any case, I suppose it's good he has been removed from the post. Probably will have only the slightest effect on the ruination Trump will ultimate cause, but hey, we'll take whatever we can get at this late stage.
Highly recommend his other works. The Century Of The Self is probably his masterpiece.

Bannon is out because he dissed Jared Kushner. With Trump personal is the number one reason for everything. Yes, jo6pac, the latest Syria story stinks.
And since we are on the NSC, who the hell is Ezra Cohen-Watnick? From what I can tell he is 30 years old, graduated from college in 2009, and there are no photos of him at all -- anywhere! WTF?!

I can't see the clintons or obamas not being lynched for their crimes. The democrat slaves are as brainwashed as the muslims.

Trump is set to control any DOJ Russia investigation. He has just issued an executive order appointing a new official as the next in succession at the DOJ after Boente. It will be the US Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, currently John Stuart Bruce, an Obama appointee who was never confirmed and still holds the position in an acting capacity. That position becomes vacant in a month. Trump can then appoint anyone he likes.

Bill Palmer makes an interesting case that "Putin had Assad gas his own Syrian people so Donald Trump would have an excuse for war." http://www.palmerreport.com/opinion/putin-had-assad-gas-his-own-syrian-people-so-donald-trump-would-have-an-excuse-for-war/2177/
