Medvedev didn't want to risk have his tires slashed.

Well. I'm Very very happy that the Doomsday Meteor has heeded the Senator's request and will no longer be hurtling towards planet Earth. That's how you get things done! I am also very very happy that the Senator came to his senses, and while dying, in a final gesture, managed to fall onto the detonator, blow up the bridge and send the Japaneses train falling into the Kwai....

Maybe now"His Holiness" can focus on "World Hunger"and while he is at it do you think he can snap his holy fingers and stop the Universe from expanding?

I'm sure all that "condemning the outbreak of violence" got the job done.

Boy he sure is progressive.

Putin and Medvedev must be salivating at the thought of an Obama Presidency. Four years of free rein in Europe and Asia, opposed only by the Chosen One's naive, hand-wringing, UN-resolution, diplomatic-sanction, unicorn-kumbaya "soft power"! They'd rebuild the USSR and maybe get back a half-share interest in Alaska before he snapped out of it!

But, of course, once he did snap out of it, he'd get tough. He'd impose an embargo on US exports of arugula to Russia! That'd teach 'em.

In case anyone is interested, here are few more instances of apparent congruence in language between the (white supremacist) Stormfront and Texas Darlin 'Techdudes'.

Darlin Techdude:
'I applaud you for questioning'
Stormfront Techdude:
'While I applaud Duke's efforts'
'I applaud the reporter'

Darlin Techdude:
'straw man arguments'
Stormfront Techdude:
'constructing a straw man'

Darlin Techdude:
'in homage to forensic firearm examinations'
Stormfront Techdude:
'paying homage to a 20 year old tennis player.'

Darlin Techdude:
'just stop it man. Oh gosh...I just read your replies'
SF Techdude:
'(Gosh what a shocker!)'

Darlin Techdude:
'I have no clue'
Stormfront Techdude:
'I honestly have no clue'

Darlin Techdude:
'calling it low qaulity in itself is friggin hysterical'
Stormfront Techdude:
'the more I read stuff like this the more I think whites are friggin retards if'
Darlin Techdude:
'the demented retard who slaughtered'
'are you married to Raytard?'

Darlin Techdude:
'the fabulous world of the lazy online couch potatoes'
Stormfront Techdude:
'or are too lazy' [he often comments that people are getting fat and unathletic]

Just an update on the betting indices. Obama's numbers seem to have resumed their downtrend.

There is a chart of his "support" on the right side of the page. The betting markets appear to have picked up on it.

And McCain would be much better ! He would simply start a war with the Russians over a small republic that Russia consider its backyard.
Keep in mind it's the crazy Republicans who brought us this crisis in the first place by trying to include all the ex soviet republics in NATO or part of their shield against Iranian missiles (!?). It's scary to realize the neocons don't understand Russia is not anymore the country that lost the cold war. The bear is waking up and flexing its muscles and it wont tolerate US interventions in its neighbourhood. The era of humiliation is finished.

Georgians are not innocent victims in this. They played with fire with the Russian minorities in the rebel provinces with an operation called "Clean fields" in South Ocetia. Russia considers it has the right to intervene.

The Georgian gamble is that the US would not allow Russia to proceed since they played the US lackey in Iraq... but I fear they over evaluated the support they would get from the US.

And the idea that a strong Democrat congress would prevent the neocon crazies from starting a world war is ridiculous. Democrats are not better than the intelligence they are fed. If the neocons control the flow of information they control the game. We had a great example with the invasion of Iraq.

I can't believe I have to argue with Republican talking points on this blog.
